Dance Class Labor Day Weekend at Equinox

This is how I spent part of my Labor Day weekend. I went to my favorite dance class at Equinox. Allan, the dance instructor and choreographer extraordinaire, taught us this sexy, sassy, and (Spartan)-slinky routine. It was quite fun I must admit!

I was wearing the Military Green Mesh Pocket pants and matching Military Green sport top. Perfect for a tough dance class. Click here for more dance clothing!

I used my Polar Heart Rate Monitor to track how hard I was working. It told me my Max was 172 beats per minute and my average was 152 beats per minute. Now that is pretty good since I am in my target heart rate zone of 3-4-5. It also shared with me that I burned 453 calories in only 54 minutes! What a great way to start a holiday weekend!

Hidden Girls Night Out

On Tues the gals and I joined together for a fun night on the town. We went to local area hotspot, "Hidden". One of my friends and owner from the Italian restaurant down the street, Via Veneto, also recently purchased this restaurant. It was a well known hot spot of the legendary, Arnold Schwarzenagger. When Arnold owned it, it was well known for its outdoor ambiance and cigar bar. He used to be spotted there every Thurs having cigars with the fellas. Now that he is governor, he no longer has this luxury.

Unfortunately several of our gal pals couldn't join us due to last minute business conflicts. Sheree and I drove over there together. We were the first to arrive. Dawn joined us shortly after. Jenny and Amy arrived just about the same time.

We started out just laughing and catching up - (surprise). The pictures started early so we would be sure to get the best photos of everyone.

I order the Sole Ceviche and grilled vegetables. I thought it was excellent. Although I am not a Ceviche connoisseur, I enjoyed it. I had to ask Amy her opinion because she dines on it regularly. She thought it was good, but not outstanding.

Dawn was doing great. She is officially in work transition which works out fine because it allows her time at home with her seven month old girl.

Jenny is our amazing facialist. She was only able to join us for a few in the beginning. She missed out on a delicious and healthy dinner. But it was great to have her there.

It was home by 10:30pm for me. I had plenty of booty kicking workouts to lead in the morning. Until our next girls night out. . .

Sex in the City

I attended a Sex in the City, private party last Thursday, at a large and trendy downtown LA loft. It was held in conjunction with a charity organization, House of Ruth, which helps homeless and battered women get back on their feet.

To enter the party we had to bring a pair of shoes for the women. I brought a few pairs of sneakers, as they are my "work" shoe, and we all know a good fitness program can help carry over into other areas of life, such as career, business, relationships, and overall happiness.

Many of my friends attended the event. Jennifer was the Host of the party and did a fantastic job by entertaining us with Sex in the City Trivia Questions, rewarding trivia winners with fun Sex in the City prizes and kept the room lively with her humorous comments. We watched a one hour video that had never before seen clips and interviews with all the characters.

Before leaving there was a terrific raffle. Well, it could have been really terrific if I won! There were two spa packages donated, which wer great. BUT the big prize - a pair of Jimmy Choo shoes that Carrie Bradshaw wore in the movie. You know, the silver strappy sexy hot ones?! Yes, those were given away to a lucky winner. . . . .not me. So now I will have to wait for Jimmy Choo shoes. By the way, had I won the shoes, (like my clients predicted) I would have worn them to the gym the next morning to train my clients! I am sure I could have found some Mak Attack Fitness Wear to coordinate with Jimmy!

The event was fabulous, fun, and a perfect beginning to a great weekend!

Guest Speaker

I was invited to speak at Cal State Fullerton's grad level Marketing class. The students enjoyed learning about my entrepeneurial skills and Mak Attack Fitness Wear. I touched on many of the key points that their text covers, such as branding, internet marketing, international business, and work ethic. I shared with them some inside secrets and what I have learned from experience, as well as some of the changes I have made to grow my business. I concluded the power point presentation with about ten minutes left for their thoughts, questions, and ideas. It was really a great evening. It was nice to be in a different setting, yet still teaching and making a difference.

Conditioning Fusion in Peachtree City

Jada and I hosted our first Conditioning Fusion in Peachtree City, Georgia. Our hosts David and Lucy Thrasher invited us to hold the workshop at their gym, Ultimate Fitness. We had a great turn out and received very positive feedback from the participants. We already were asked to return for a follow up Conditioning Fusion workshop.
